DIRECT SALES

MLMs have a distinct operational approach where independent business owners directly sell products to the public through brick-and-mortar stores and through online websites. In the MLM model, these independent business owners (IBOs) play a vital role in the company’s success. They sell the company’s products individually or through their recruited IBOs, earning commissions based on sales. The company’s financial stability relies on the success of the IBOs’ businesses.

Initially, it might be challenging for an MLM salesperson to earn enough income without recruiting others. This aspect makes MLMs a less preferred choice for individuals seeking online or non-online independent businesses. Nonetheless, it doesn’t imply that joining an MLM can’t lead to success in establishing a direct sales business.

On the other hand, traditional companies employ people who work for a salary or hourly wage. Sales positions in traditional companies often offer a base salary, providing support from the start of employment.

AMWAY AN MLM

Established in 1959, Amway is a family-owned business and one of the oldest direct sales companies. While the founders have passed away, the company is now managed by a board of directors consisting of three individuals: Milind Pant as chief executive officer and Steve Van Andel and Doug Devos as co-chair of the board of directors. These people set the company’s tone through the laws and by-laws they establish.

Amway has been involved in direct sales through independent business owners for over 60 years. It operates globally and holds the prestigious rank of #1 among successful MLMs or direct sales companies, according to Direct Selling News Global 100. I understand that direct sales MLM firms are rated on a different standard than non-MLMs. More directly speaking, since the non-MLMs do not use independent salespeople to sell products, it is easier to predict growth and stability.

WHY IS AMWAY NOT A PYRAMID?

Amway does not fit the criteria of a pyramid-type company because it manufactures products to sell to the public. These products are sold through independent salespersons or Independent Business owners.

A Pyramid scheme, on the other hand, focuses on recruiting people rather than selling products. Typically, individuals are encouraged to invest to join the company and earn money by recruiting others. This process continues with each level contributing to the earnings of those above. Pyramid schemes are illegal in many countries due to their unsustainability and financial losses for most participants.

IS AMWAY A SCAM

Amway is not a scam for various reasons. Firstly, it has been operating worldwide for many years. Secondly, it originated in 1959 as a family-owned manufacturing business. While Amway doesn’t have physical stores for product sales or advertisements, they rely on independent salespeople who establish their businesses to sell Amway products.

SALE OF AMWAY PRODUCTS

You won’t find Amway products on supermarket shelves. Their products are sold through online stores, independent salespeople, and independent business owners. Amway offers a wide range of products for home and personal use, including hair shampoo, soap, beauty and makeup items, laundry soaps, floor cleaners, dish soap, vitamins, and weight loss products. These products are available through Amway’s online businesses or IBOs.

DOES IT COST TO JOIN

A price will be paid when someone becomes an independent salesperson at Amway. Just like any other business, there is always a cost involved. There is a cost for registering a traditional business with the Federal and State governments. Then, there are website setups, training, and support, including a few items regarding online business, such as online stores and affiliate marketing.

The cost to Jion Amway is $76, and each year thereafter, there is a renewal cost of $76. whereas with affiliate marketing, you will find different pricing structures. When I decided to enter the online marketing field, searching for a company offering complete training for people new to the industry was difficult. I soon learned there were hundreds of offers to choose from. Some offered limited training but nothing to fully educate a person from beginning to end of a complete setup.

Amway offered training of sorts that was geared to personal sales, and this was a process I had experienced in the past. In the end, I settled with a company named Wealthy Affiliate Marketing. If you want to be an independent business salesperson and don’t mind spending the time it takes to succeed, this could be a good business venture.

MY CONCLUDING THOUGHTS

There are many avenues a person can pursue to earn sideline income. Amway appears to be a company where a person can easily start a sideline hustle. Yet, it is not easy for everyone to succeed in this company because it requires a person to sell its products directly to the consumer. For a person to be a successful business owner, he or she must recruit people to sell Amway products, also.

Building up a customer base could take a considerable amount of time. Mainly to supply an income suitable to support the effort of a part-time steady income of $2,000 or more monthly. Therefore, my recommendation is to search all companies diligently to find one that has the potential to meet your expectations.

Training is a significant factor when it involves sales, and Amway does have a training plan in place, though very little is said about it. I think more could be said about training basics for a person new to direct sales. Direct sales indicate that such sales are made by presenting products face-to-face to the intended customer. By experience, I can say that this type of sale and, or recruiting is not the easiest for a person who has never been exposed to such a structure.

Many other marketing companies offer free training, even free starter courses and websites to see if it fits you well. One such company is called Wealthy Affiliate Marketing; go ahead and check them out.
